Sexist Ad

In The Camera's Eye

I photographed these billboards to show women how we are being degraded by sexist advertising, and to show that some women will not accept such humiliation without fighting back.

On this billboard, the models are very stereotypical-thin, with long hair, looking a little seductive. It is suggestive and arousing to have women's "ends" touching. Again we make the connection between money and our sexuality.

Here, the Businessmen's Club's whole advertising campaign is based on degrading women. They aren't selling steaks, they're selling women's bodies; the ad suggests not a great steak, but a great lay. If you want to be a really successful businessman, you must share these ideas and degrade women.

This ad offends me the most because it is so subtle. The lipstick marks are suggestive of our sexuality. Another male fantasy, having two women, is portrayed, and as usual, sexual pleasure is equated with the pleasure of using or buying a product.
